Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive ultrasound guided technique involving a foam agent, called a sclerosant, injected into a vein to displace blood and promote vein wall collapse. The solution causes these veins to swell, stick together and seal shut. It is an excellent treatment option for large veins (branches) not amenable to laser closure. Multiple treatments may be required.
This technique is best for large veins that are not candidates for Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) or Ambulatory Phlebectomy.
Approximate treatment time: 30 minutes
