Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

This treatment is what we use to close off the largest varicose veins (typically the "trunks" and some of the larger branches). After local anesthesia is administered, the procedure requires placement of a catheter (very small tube) into the diseased vein. Laser fiber is then inserted through the catheter. The laser emits energy which shrinks and seals the vein wall. Afterward, the "healthy" veins will restore normal blood flow to the leg. EVLA has been proven effective in over 100,000 patients with varicose veins and has a reported success rate of 95-97% at 12 month follow-up.

Approximate treatment time: 60 - 90 minutes

Customer Comments

"I am a super fan of the Premier Vein Center! Everyone there is so nice and very positive, they make you feel comfortable, especially Julie! I wish I had the endovenous procedure done years earlier....could have worn shorts on the golf course without being so self-conscious...wouldn't have had to own so many sarongs to hide under at the beach!"
